I am the baby of my family, there are three of us kiddos. There is bit of an age gap between my siblings and me (8.5 years and 10 years). I was not really around babies. I was not a 'baby person' or a 'kid person'. I was unfamiliar with this tiny version of human. Why am I telling you this? Well, because it surprises me that I love photographing newborns so very much. When I originally began this journey as business, I had the desire to shoot mainly boudoir. However, my heart's desires changed dramatically. Families, kiddos, new life, graduates....these are my favorite subjects to capture. All the little details. The moments that become a blur and melt together.
The Sutherland family was one of those sessions where I left thinking to myself, "yep, I am doing exactly what I want to be doing.". Their twin identical girls were so fun and so different from each other. Children are true to themselves. Newborns are true to themselves. It's so beautiful. I did not see this beauty before having kids myself. I was too focused on growing up. Photographing families, kids and newborns makes my heart happy. The point, keep yourself open, take risks, change and grow. Live life. Do what you enjoy. Thank you to ALL my clients for this opportunity and making my heart happy.
